This skin is painted in the markings of the unit commander, Lt. Col. John Chennault, son of the commander of the "Flying Tigers" in China. It was in honor of their commander and his father that the 11th Fighter Squadron adopted the name "Aleutian Tigers" which painted their P-40E Kittyhawks with a large tiger head on the nose.

Note: The stock airframe with the first 2 engine options lack the tigers head nose art, only the final engine option on the stock airframe displays the famous nose art. All engine options on teh upgraded airframe display the nose art.

As usual available at https://skydrive.liv...0047E8D5705!105 in the P-40 sub-folder file name is aleutian_tiger.zip

Please note, I have taken my other 3 P-40 repaints down temporarily while I rework them slightly and update their res_mods folders.

OMG what a great idea yes please put that in as one of there skins because that tigermouth they gave us is so pitiful the p51 tigermouth skin is better looking they the one they gave for the p 40 i cant believe they would degrade the teeth of the p 40 which in my opinion is the grad father of the tigermouth of world war II excluding the british which they dont get the credit they deserve for putting it  on  the p 40 first  one of there best pilots that flewthe p 40  for the british was FLT. LT. OLIVE R. CALDWELL finish the war with over 20 kills not all flying the p 40 but a nice chunk  he had he was in the RAF 112 Sq in 1941 but it wont be far to say there was another pilot that had17 kills and a half flying the p 40s his name is Sqdn. Ldr JOHN WADDY  of the RAAF80 sq. out of Noemfoor in 1944. he kicked so butt flying the p 40s

The zip file from my SkyDrive all you need to do is drop the res_mods folder adn paths.xml into the main World of Warplanes folder found by default at C:/Games/World_of_Warplanes

Just finished the 3 older P-40 skins and have them uploaded. All 3 are now in res_mods folders and have updated markings. These include a Desert pattern from North Africa (all pink) an olive plane from teh Soloman Islands campaign, and well this one....

Fully reworked markings, AVG 2nd Pursuit Squadron, Burma, early 1942.

I messed up the zip file on this one, had an extra folder in the res_mods folder structure. I have replaced the file on my SkyDrive with one that is fixed.

That is the standings decal that is over the tiger. Open up res_mods folder and make sure all the following folders are in place, \vehicles\airplanes\common\decals\standing\USA\lvls and verify that there are 6 dds files in the last folder named Lvl_01.dds through Lvl_06.dds. Most likely one of the folders is missing or the dds files are not there. If everything is in place try to download and replace those files and folders again as it may be a corrupted download. If that does not help please let me know.
