It is a special tester aircraft described at the beginning of this thread. It is not available to buy anymore.

Is there a way we can collect the info on the promo code aircraft? How/When were they available... Odds of ever getting them.

Here a list:

So enthusiastic! I've never flown it, but this piques my curiousity - how would YOU compare it to the P-40 (and others in tier)?

SUPER late response...BUT:

The P-40-M105 has markedly less altitude performance and engine performance, but otherwise handles just like the P-40. (And they're buffing this specific 'con' a bit in the next patch, woot!)

Guns overheat way fast on the M105 as well, that is being adjusted this patch as well, but it's a definite con on the plane.

I didn't think it overheated any faster than the American P-40, but by all means...lol

Updated changes to aircraft that received "adjustments" with 1.2.

Yes, it definitely needs to be said that 1.2 affected the Me.209V and XF4U-1

The 209V has gone from a boom and zoom "harasser" type fighter to a full fledged heavy killer.  I've sawed multiple Bf.110s in half in a single pass from behind without the guns overheating.  That is something the aircraft was completely incapable of before 1.2

The "Proto-sair" feels much more punchy now.  Its guns don't overheat just by looking at the firing trigger and it's capable of downing aircraft in half a heat cycle now at close range.

Overall 1.2 has given both of these premiums a second wind and really made them quality investments rather than a circus side show that you pull out once a day for doubles.

Good hunting!  :honoring:

Other then the XF4U-1, Me. 209 V, Bf. 110 C-6 and the GA planes, all premiums became very weak with patch 1.2. The cause is optimal altitude staying the same when regular planes got a boost. All premium planes now have optimal altitude ranges equal to regular planes two tiers lower. I can understand premiums are not suppose to be as good as the regular planes. But, most are no longer worth playing even the daily doubles in my opinion. Please evaluate raising their optimal ranges to be similar to regular planes one tier lower. They will still not be comparable to equal tier regular planes while being able to compete in the tier ranges they see.

AFAIK, the Model 81 is only available on the EU server, for now at least. A few months back, I saw 5 invite codes of this aircraft being given out on Reddit. It's also awarded for winning some in-game competition, something involving the training room mode IIRC. It's basically a stock P-40 placed at tier IV but with only two nose guns, resulting in poor firepower but better maneuverability.

Don't worry though, for there's another premium P-40 Tomahawk coming out soon, except that it's Chinese. Keep an eye out for it on the test server. =)

Noobmeter is showing stats for the Model 81 on the US server, so somebody has one somewhere.  Haven't been able to figure out who yet though.

Dreaming of better days.  When this game had full matches, fiery dogfights, and hope for the future.

Aircraft available as of 1.3.0

Tier VI Grumman XP-50 "Mission Aircraft" Full price 3600 Gold.

The first of two aircraft made available for the "Getting the Goods" Mission for the month of May, 2014. The second ingame premium Heavy Fighter complements the American Heavy Fighter line with similar performance and flight characteristics.

Pros:

  • Good rate of climb with strong boost.
  • Bombs are optional.
  • Above average maneuverability (rated at 243. P-38J Lightning rated at 228 with optimal upgrades).

Cons:

  • Slightly below average hitpoints in it's class (rated at 300. P-38J Lightning rated at 310 without upgrades).
  • Slightly below average firepower in it's class (rated at 179. P-38J Lightning rated at 241 without upgrades, Tier IV Bf 110 C-6 is rated at 292).

The mounted 20 mm M2 is a variant shared with the Lockheed P-38F Lightning and Lockheed P-38J Lightning. The mounted 12.7 mm AN/M2 is a variant shared with the Grumman XF4F-3, Bell XP-77 and Chance-Vought XF4U-1. The optional 100 pound bombs are shared with the Grumman F2F, F3F, F4F and Brewster F2A.

This plane is not currently available for purchase.

Tier VI Kawasaki Ki-88 "Mission Aircraft" Full price 3500 Gold.

The second of two aircraft made available for the "Getting the Goods" Mission for the month of May, 2014. This premium Japanese Fighter shares almost nothing in common with it's tech tree counterparts in terms of performance and/or maneuverability. The Ki-88 shares more traits with the North American P-51A Mustang, including the recommended playstyle.

Pros:

  • Good dive rate (with or without boost).
  • Higher operational altitude then a typical Japanese aircraft of similar tiers.
  • Above average firepower (rated at 194. Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero rated at 157 with optimal upgrades).
  • Above average airspeed (rated at 553. Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero rated at 507 with optimal upgrades).

Cons:

  • Slightly below average maneuverability (rated at 284. Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero rated at 377, North American P-51A Mustang rated at 286, both with optimal upgrades).
  • Below average climb rate, when not in optimal operational altitude range.
  • Mounted 37 mm cannon is most effective at short range.

The mounted 37 mm Ho-203 is unique to this aircraft. The mounted 20 mm Ho-5 is unique to this aircraft.

This plane is not currently available for purchase.

Update 1.4. Both aircraft became available in the gift shop and through the ingame store.

Love this thread. I do think it would be better if you gave a recommendation on "Definitely buy/It's ok/Don't buy".
