First!

Most important, a global GermanHF nerf in this patch - aka the dispersion/range when firing up.

Ah great so it's coming to NA tomorrow!? I didn't expect it to be released here before next week. I'm really excited. The FW 190 has always been a favourite of mine. Can't wait to get my hands on one. Thank you WG!:honoring:

Uh-oh, I guess I better have this downloaded and patched before the KoTH tourney.

Sucks that I can not take time off to make sure this was downloaded and working correctly LOL.

@ Kobra2009

Its not really a nerf to the German HF.

The mechanics are changed overall, Damage increase modifier were taken away on shooting Up to Down and took away the decrease modifier from shooting Down to Up (this allows the same damage no matter what direction you are shooting at).  Dispersion was slightly tighten up for shooting Down to up.  This just makes it so TnB that successfully dodge a BnZ, can shoot at a fleeing BnZ and actually do damage.  But all the BnZ will do is like in the past is to straighten out and use the speed to pull distance from target then gain altitude.  Also if you are crap at aiming the increase damage modifier that was taken away will hurt those people a bit, but the ones that can aim really well will still take down planes in 1 or 2 passes in a BnZ plane.

I took one look at the first "Fortress" picture and thought... MINAS TIRITH! I'm going to have to cry out "For Gondor!" anytime I get on that map now....

It means you play tanks during the warplanes update, and warplanes during the tanks update! Thank goodness you guys don't update both at the same time! :veryhappy:

I agree the mechanics update has lessened the dominance gap between high altitude and turn fighters but the BnZ's will still have the advantage.   They still have the initiative on their side and can dictate when the fight will commence.   BnZ planes can have impunity from turn fighters whenever they choose.  Turn fighters can only wait like prey.  A lot of times when a BnZ attacks it is from surprise and even if not surprised the turn fighter still has to avoid (if not killed), recover for pursuit, and get a shot off.  By the time the TnB plane completes this dance move, the superior speed of the BnZ plane will usually give it enough distance to avoid retaliation and combat altogether if it so wishes.   And so the cycle repeats.

The gap has closed and will make the Japanese and Russian fighters a little more enjoyable to play but the BnZ'ers will still be the wolves and the TnB'ers will still be the sheep albeit with newfound teeth.   I won't be veering from my P-51's anytime soon and neither will anyone else.

Does require that those in the habit of going UP, have a better awareness as to their exit path. Makes attacking the straggler even more attractive as you want to "pull distance" out away from the fur balls!

~~Shooting
The correlation between damage dealt and the altitude of two engaged planes has been removed. Previously, this connection led to insufficiently low damage rates when shooting at a plane from below, and excessively high damage rates when shooting at a plane from above
The difference in dispersion of fire at different speeds was reduced. Dispersion for shooting at low speeds was reduced
A bug, which led to plane speeds not being taken into account for damage calculation, was fixed. (This means that planes will now take more damage in head-on attacks)

TYTYTYTYTYYTYTYTYYTYT hopefully this makes vertical fighting we have been seeing go away, more back to 20mm cannons in flat runs being the norm ( sigh )

But it is good to see IJN planes get more HPs,,,,, being poofed in <2secs was getting old really fast

I like the changes, but I didn't see anything on the intermittent crashes to desktop.

Japanese planes are still going to get poofed really fast   .  They are only getting a 5-20 hp bump depending on tier.

for example (upgraded airframe included):

Tier 5 - 135 to 140 = +5 hp

Tier 6 - 160 to 175 = +15 hp

Tier 7 - 210 to 230 = +20 hp

Tier 8 - 250 to 265 = +15 hp

So yeah same as before **poof**

Test server has been pretty stable since the third version or so. I haven't crashed on the test server in over a week.

WG needs to get on the ball balancing this game.

Right now BnZ is OUT OF CONTROL, and if 1.1 doesn't 'fully' address that issue, they will bleed more customers.

Fix it WG.
