Does joystick really *need* a training class?
Most of everything joystick users need to know, can be done by reading Stick And Rudder (recommend as a must-read for any kind of pilot).
Personally, I think it's harder to learn how to replicate real flight control functions with a mouse & keyboard, than it is to simply use a joystick/throttle/rudder assembly that mimic flight controls nearly perfectly. Once you know what controls what (and how each control truely affects a plane during flight), it's all pretty intuitive on the maneuvering side of things.
Knowing how to maneuver and AIM using a realistic control setup, on the other hand...I could see a class on that being useful.
