No, it doesn't work that way.

 

The argument was that the flying whales have biological proof and scientific study while the dragons don't.

 

My argument was his biological proof made no logical sense, while in a different setting explaining that dragons are not subject to the laws of biology because they are magical creatures.

 

Basically, he would have to make the argument that flying whales are magical creatures, but that would go against all his previous research in the subject.

Dragons in Berk are already sorted by class. Magic has biology rules too meng.
