Okay Wulf just read the whole thread and saw no "detailed discussion" of why the name changed. The first mention I can find of it is a few post up where you ask:

Block Quote

Your name, esteemed comrade? Wulf

Where am I missing the details? No explanation was given, only vague hints. Or did I eat too many hallucinogenic jalapenos and find myself out of touch with reality?

Fair enough Wulf, but I think saying 'Read this entire thread. We discussed it in detail.' was a wee bit overboard. But hey I now have the finer details and appreciation of the Stösser Rotary!

Magus lets hear your story, testify pilot...

OK, perhaps I was waxing poetic. Made gourmet toasted cheese sandwiches for dinner, with sourdough bread, provolone, prosciutto, and toasted eggplant, and a side of boiled beets. Wulf

That's why they give us our own club on the bases.

As for your request for details, I'm not sure what I'm at liberty to discuss, seeing as it's a moderation issue, but seeing as how the forced namechange was overturned and judged erroneous in the first place I will say this.

1.  Unnamed party of questionable motivation reported my post in the "It Takes Two" video contest thread as having an offensive name (On the very same day Wesrin and I were declared the runners up), with html links to wikipedia pages of personages that did not have the same name, but similar.  These persons were of questionable historical significance to any but specialized historians.

2.  Name forced to change by system.

3.  Decision contested, appealed and overturned.  My account's real name will return when it comes out of hard coded automatic lockdown.

The lesson to be taken away here is when dealing with Moderators or CSRs even if you believe you have been treated unfairly you should keep your cool and state your position logically.  You will accomplish more with that than with hysterics.  I had the added motivation that I firmly believed that I was being trolled by "whoever" and would stop at nothing to stomp all over their little game.

Good hunting!  :honoring:

Edit:  Love your avatar, by the way.  Crazy helicoptor pilot.

Well that is good news indeed to hear the name MagusGerhardt will return to it's rightful proper place. Excellent points on keeping one's poise and responding diplomatically.

Flew my Stosser for the mission, today. Took me 28 rounds to bring down 10 British planes. They were in high demand. Managed to down an Ao 192. SR4589 has opened the Hanger Chat.

Killed 10 planes (evidence says even more than this since you listed an Ao.192 as a kill and the ten refers to Brits only) within your first 36 matches?

You're definitely off to a better start than I had back in early Closed Beta.  I think it took about 15 matches for me to get my first kill period.

And AR is correct!  I have opened up an in-hangar chat channel for this thread @ Stosser Rotary Club.  Join in and let's spike those low tier game populations!

Flew some other planes, the I-5 to get the I-15 for rockets (I missed), and the TSh to get some ground targets. Will try to finish a mission tomorrow.

Well, it's been a while since I was here last.

I have been avoiding playing in the lower tiers, just trying to do my part to keep the new/newer players interested in the game, without somebody like me to give them enough "discouragement" to consider leaving.

However, having said that, I do on occasion have the odd match down there. Here is an example of a recent match I just had (minutes ago in fact),

It was an almost "Ace" match. If you watch the following replay, you can see where I nearly got the fifth kill, however, I made up for it with the damage I dealt out.

I have not yet managed to "ace" my Stosser, but made it to 4 kills. At 70% win rate now for the Stosser, at 40 games. Two Aces, but both on the I-15. Fired some rockets, but no Rocketeer so far. I can use my Russians for this weekend's mission. Fly High!

Good to hear, AR!  You'll get your Ace in the Stosser eventually, I'm sure.  I'm not surprised you've aced several times in the I-15; that little biplane is a beast, though I prefer my Ar.68 and He.51 since they add experience to my 4 skill having German light fighter pilot.

And Quesnel, I just noticed that you took down Heibges in that Stosser match you posted, so you weren't the only non-rookie flying in that match and at least one pilot you downed was no rookie.

Good hunting!  :honoring:

Another 4 kill game in the Stosser, and picked up "accumulator" medals in ground targets and kills. Still no Rocketeer. Getting the Russians ready for the weekend mission.

Got a Rocketeer, and did the mission as a Russian. Flew better in the I-5 than the I-15, so I should probably take the rockets off. Some strange missions for next weekend!

Agreed; rockets aren't very useful in air to air role until you are a real crackshot with your aim.  Rockets are still useful against ground targets, but your airplane will be sluggish and easy prey until you fire them all.

Once you are more comfortable with your aiming ability take the rockets back into battle and try lobbing them at enemies coming at you head-on.  You may surprise them, yourself, and get a Rocketeer medal out of the deal as well!

Yes indeed!  Here's a news exclusive for ya, CATS (The Cyborg from Zero Wing) will be replaced by something that reflects my in-game German aircraft proclivities as well as my membership in Dracarys.  That's Dracarys, not Dracary's.

I don't even watch Game of Thrones, how can I get that right when the recruitment thread doesn't?
