Nobody wants the FUBAR Russian pitch ladder. Not even the Russians. Give us the proper pitch ladder already. There's been several threads in these forums asking for this. Why are you ignoring the pleas of your players?

We've been complaining about this one for months - there's a huge thread on it in suggestions.
.
I completely agree with you, it's backwards when you don't have the camera locked to the horizon and it's very frustrating for those of us that have flight experience.

More instrumentation options in general would be nice. And has been requested for at least a year. The best we got was them returning barometric altimeters after months of complaining that they removed them.

Personally, I miss the old radial speed/alt gauges, with the airspeed indicator that doubled as a boost indicator (and was so much better than the tiny box at bottom of the screen) and the altimeter that doubled as vertical speed (rate-of-climb) indicator.

I don't even have flight experience, but I still hate it when you take away the possibility of information from me. Rate of climb from that combination altimeter+VSI was handy and I miss it.
Mountains are OP. Nerf plz.

Agreed, the Russian pitch ladder is one of the biggest annoyances in the game instrumentation.

Still, at least WG didn't give us WW2 French throttle controls...

I'm making this a personal vendetta. I have a PPL and the Attitude Indicator is annoying the heck out of me. I shall not rest until this is solved!

Thanks Chieftan!  We've been agitating to have this thing fixed forever.  As someone with thousands of hours of simulator experience as well as some progress towards my RL certificate, I get all twisted up trying to use that darned thing.

OK, Kiev say they'll give us a Western Attitude Indicator. Of course, 'when' is not yet confirmed.

Right on. If there are any other vendettas you feel like setting out on, please feel free.

that throttle control is already here, has been for joystick users for a long time now, push throttle forward to reduce it, pull it back to increase, but we do have an option to invert axis and "fix" it.

Anything I should know  about?  Bear in mind,  the attitude indicator is pretty fundamental, I  can't chase after things because they're "nice"

Was it like this for your stick by default? I never looked at the settings because mine worked as I expected from the minute I plugged it in. That is, it was push forward to throttle up, boost is at the end of the lever throw.

One of the things I loved about WoWP even in the beta was it took care of the stick without needing excessive calibration and settings adjustments like WT did.

Certain popular sticks have configurations built into the game that take care of things like the throttle axis being backwards. As far as I know the axis being reversed is more of a Windows thing though.

And maybe get some Engine Audio SFX to reinforce what the attitude indicator is telling us.   The engine will struggle more going up than flying straight, and the engine in a diving plane will sound differently than both of them, or am I wrong?

So right now you have the Normal Engine  SFX then

  • Stall SFX
  • Engine Overheat SFX
  • Engine Full Dive SFX

You need Intermediate Audio SFX in between Normal Engine Operation SFX and all of the End State SFX.

I second that motion. All in favor?
