WOW needs to get this model up here on the forum if they want feedback.

This is just a delightful plane to fly.  I'm attracted to planes that can turn well and this model has that ability in spades!.  Turns on a dime.  The airspeed is pretty good too, and the hit points are sufficient.  What is missing is firepower.  My Russian I-16 (e) - tier 3 as well -  also has two 7.62 machine guns as standard for 44 rated firepower.  The Ki-33 has two 7.62 guns, but due to a low rate of fire (ROF) its firepower is only 21.  This is even less that my tier 2, I-15 with 24 firepower.  Against light fighters this may be OK within or below your tier, but not against bombers, heavy fighters and ground targets.  I would bump up the firepower some to the 30 area.  Otherwise, I just love this plane.

It flys really well.  Great turning and acceleration.  The guns however are VERY lacking.  They last forever before overheating, but they don't do any significant damage.  The AM5 is the better plane because of this.

Let's be clear. the BIGGEST tradeoff between planes in this game is between maneuverability and firepower.

S842, when you mention that you are attracted to planes that turn well, it also means you like planes that have crappy guns. It's kind of all the same thing most of the time. So when the plane "turns on a dime", it also cannot shoot very well. Conversely, when I fly my huge lumbering ME-410, it swats tier 7s out of the sky in less than 3 seconds, but cannot turn to save it's life.

To back you up though, I will say that the I-16(e) is the better aircraft. The only advantage of the Ki-33 is airspeed, and that won't make up for half the guns and less turning ability.

The K--33 is great... I was not too sure I was going to like it until I flew it a few times. That is one kick ass little plane. I didn't have any issues with the guns.. gotta remember this is an early plane that will have early model guns. I plan to get this plane on release if they don't render any nerfs to it.

Guns suck, but BOY can this lil mama dance! If I'm going to survive a battle, it'll be in this little gem! I've had as many as five planes chasing me in a turning fight, last man standing so to speak, and I lived! My only fear is another Ki-33 coming after me.

Well, looked at the tech tree and no Ki-33. Maybe as a gift later on, the upcoming holidays would be nice.

You can get it with the T-Shirt Package if there are any left.

Not a chance it will appear. At least for the first year or so.

Fw.56 Stosser, and Ki-33 won't be around for a long time, guaranteed. As they were special promo items people paid real money for, or attended conventions for.. Same with the 224. So likely they will be off shelf, similar to the XFL-1, Bsh, and Ar.197, they can't toss those in the store as they were preorder specials.  Maybe in a year or two they will appear, or check Ebay for code sales.

Ki-33 is worth every penny of the cost of the shirt itself.

Also to add, the Stosser turns even better.. It's an insane pub-stomper/seal-clubber with GREAT firepower.. Durability stinks, but with that turning, you shouldn't be allowing newbs to hit you. I am in love with the IJN line in this game now, and was skeptical at first.. Now it's the exclusive line I am grinding down. I tried the entire line on test and found them remarkably fun.

Can't wait for the J7W1, especially after 1.1 buffs, the thing just performs!!

No guns. Best classified as a transport or aerial trainer. Wulf

No guns? Ki-33 while not heavy on the guns, can easily shred anyone.. Load up the premium rounds, and win.

Simple really. Same with Stosser, that thing shreds anything, and easily outturns anything. 400 turn on Stosser. 426 on Ki-33, and 393 on I-15Bis-DM..  All really good prems I believe. You can seal club in any of the three - and I own all three.

The Ki-33 is just an I-16(e) [414 maneuver w/ top engine and 4xShKAS] with half the firepower and ~10% higher speed.

Got mine today and Im sorry to say, but you are absolutely right. The speed and agility isnt much different from an A5M or a I-16(e).

-Edit: This thing keeps speed up so well. Its actually a blast to play in T3 games.

What T-Shirt did you buy to get this plane? (Sorry I must have missed that Promo somewhere, I loved my 33 in CB)

Hello...

Here is the link to Jinx site. I just looked and it shows that they only have small sizes in stock. I would call or email to confirm the promotion is still in effect if you want to order a tee for the Ki-33.

Good luck...:honoring:.

The smalls are indeed very, very small. I usually wear a small and the medium fits me very well.

Here's my ShadowPlay test video using the Ki-33.  I really like this plane, especially considering it is the only Japanese pilot trainer at the moment.

Thanks!

I sent them an email to see....for the sake of a collector plane I'm willing to buy a small and give it to my cousin who I have been teaching to play, so it's really a win win.
