Comparing both planes on paper it seems the j7w3 is better in firepower and maneuverability the only weaker points is litlle less in speed and less in healthpoints but it seems its the stronger plane here.
But since i took a large hit from this type of thinking in WoT before discovering that the game is russian bias and that there are other values not on the paper , i would like an opnion from players who eithier tried them or had experience with fighting them .

Thanks.

To put it in perspective...

-La-15 can easily climb to 3500m, the J7W3 can't
-J7W3 can out-turn some prop fighters, the La-15 can't

Seeing BnZ is the primary tactic for jet combat, the better plane is a fairly obvious choice here. The J7W3 is very situational, but it performs incredibly well when the stars align.

The stats are inaccurate. Do not trust them that much. Now, here's what the J7W3 has:

+ Firepower (100 damage per full burst, which means 25 damage per shell)
+ Horizontal agility
- Gun overheat time
- Tanking abilities
- Fire rate
- Energy retention
- Actual speed you'll be going at
- Agility out of optimal speed envelope

La-15:

- Firepower (the guns are still very potent though)
- Horizontal agility
+ Gun overheat time
+ Energy retention
+ Fire rate
+ Optimal speed envelope (it's bigger than the J7W's I think, but I know it stays in said envelope longer)
+ Speed
+ Tanking abilities

I'd prefer the La-15, but the J7W's strengths are big ones that can literally scare the hell out of everyone when used right. It depends on what you want: AMX 50B style or having more options for knocking down targets.

Strange i thought maneuverability was the factor affecting how a plane climbs. so it seems you would prefer a La-15 as a jack of all trade like the role of IS-7 in world of tanks.

a strong gun with  a high Gun overheat time is not that good , so it seems LA-15 is better , again thanks for the great answer.
