Since the Russians had female fighter pilots in WWII and a few became aces I thought it would be interesting if the Russian tech tree had this as an option.  Say a 5% chance when you get a Russian Yak 1, 7, or 9, you get a female pilot.   Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea! +1 :D

In fact, I don't think it is entirely fair not to put women pilots in the game...not only does excluding this fact from the game make it appear as if only men were pilots during WWII (which was not the case.) but also I think it is slightly disrespectful to the memory of all the women who risked their lives for their country.......

IMHO they should definitely add this feature....and why not make it a 25% chance, 5% is really small O.o lol

But seriously, I think it would be a neat little detail option for some.
And it's not like it'd be game changing necessarily.
Just maybe limit the planes to those that actually did have female pilots.

I like this idea especially as I only fly the Russian Planes. But their were also Female Members in Russian Tanks and they haven't added them to WoT!!
"It is generally inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed."
"The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire."
The three most common expressions (or famous last words) in aviation are: "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" And "Oh S...!"
"Airspeed, altitude and brains. Two are always needed to successfully complete the flight."
Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous.

This should be on pretty much every nation.  Every nation except maybe Italy and Japan
(I think Japan trained some women to be kamikazes if they were invaded) had female
pilots in some capacity during WW2.  Britain's were trained for non combat, but the US
and Germans did have them trained for combat roles yet most never saw action.  France
was invaded, so the resistance had used female pilots since those usually knew already
how to fly.  I wouldn't know if a female resistance fighter used a combat plane.  It is only
Russia that had a significant force women fighting in various branches.  So really, just
about every main WW2 country should have female combat pilots.

This is me recalling from memory though.

In WoT, people have asked for female tankers for the US (UN peacekeeper roles after
1945), Germany (Once again, never saw significant combat), and Russia.  It's on the
table, but it's not a big priority there especially when your female tanker can be named
Gus or your male is named Christina.  So it's coding work on top of artwork and the devs
said if they put in female tankers they must be historically accurate depictions of those
people served.  I really do want females in these two games and if they have medical
staff on WoWS, then there also too.

They can't even make black pilots work properly...

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

Russian female pilots were mostly in three units:

586 Regiment, Yak-1, -7B, -9  fighters
587 Regiment, twin engine dive bombers (Pe-2)
588 Regiment, night bombers (Po-2)

You should be able to buy a special character from a famous unit if you want, that would be kind of cool.
