I got the KMU gun...I'll say that go for the engine first, as the stock NS-23 is plenty good.

im thinking the same..

if 3-5 gen jets are ingame, sure i'll buy the KMU first.

the ingame jets arent fast enough to outaim the KM..

It'd own if my Yak-15 would start gaining airspeed on a neutral position at any given altitude ingame, since, you know, it's supposed to be good at all altitude because it's a jet fighter.

Yak must be the most frustrating fighter anvil to fly in the game. Works against inexperienced players but with BnZ(109's and P51's etc.) it gets raped almost every time ... along with half of the team that stalls while trying to get at least one hit while flying up with their shotgun guns(famous upwards dispersion).

Yak-15...jet fighter, masked pilot, confined below 2km...

...mask = vodka dispenser...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Well, I play my Yak-15 at 3000-3500 metres and win. You gotta be real dumb to drop below that with a Yak-15 above you. Enjoy getting strafed on your way back up if you do.

Then again, it might be just me playing this plane wrong? Am I supposed to stay under 2k???? Bandet help me.

Do you even feel that the controls get heavier up there, or is the Yak-15's jet engine's and lightweight construction help it perform remotely decently even up there?

I gotta give that a try sometime.

THE YAK-1M IS DELICIOUS. So many noobs to turnfight with! I simply love this plane. I got 17 kills in three games yesterday!

At 3km altitude, you spend most of your time at 300km/h. Controls aren't that heavy, just don't ever stall. Recoveries are very hard that high up.

Yak-15 got outclimbed, outgunned, outmaneuvered, and outrunned by *prop* P-51H, deal with it.

if its P-51JP, its still acceptable since its a jet too

...and lack of firepower won't allow you to whiff them away ASAP like the J7W1...

At least you have the jet engine and can actually keep up to an extent even against jets in the real jet age while being able to maneuver.

The Catfish and ME 262 can control an engagement if smartly piloted.

I've found contrary to what might be popular beleif of dogfighting, the Yak[yak-1] is underwhelming if you try to fight with an altitude "advantage", I'm only successful near the deck, and then I'm very successful, with only A6's and the best of pilots managing to outfight it, and then only by turn speed. But proper yaw control and speed/boost control and you can generally keep it at a stalemate until they get tired and make a mistake or help arrives.

I only used the LAGG in beta and went down this route to be more interesting, and meh, not that happy. I prefer the ability to destroy bombers with ease on the Lagg after you get the 37 and ditch all the other guns, whereas this takes a while to whittle them down which sucks when you have bf110's boosting out of range after they strafe everyone to death.

Going to cross over so I can get that 45 down the mid line.
