Basically casual discussions, comparisons, and general stuff about the I-15 DM2 fighter aircraft.(aircraft was automatically given as a anniversary gift to any player who participated in at least one battle prior to August second, 2013)

Anyone find it kinda cool that (A) this aircraft technically is the only biplane in the game to possess jet engines of any type, (B) that flames come out of the ramjets when boosting and © that technically it's a tier III jet plane (at least it could be counted as one)
Also does anyone know if this aircraft has greater airspeed than the standard I-15 Tier III biplane?

I like the I-15 DM2! Its a pretty cool plane (Especially the ramjets) and the camo it came with is awesome so I'm definately keeping it. However for some reason I am absolutely terrible in the I-15 and subsequently the I-15 DM2. For some reason I can never ever win a battle in them and even if I do win I barely even get 1 kill.

Also the normal I-15 is a tier 2.
"It is generally inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed."
"The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire."
The three most common expressions (or famous last words) in aviation are: "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" And "Oh S...!"
"Airspeed, altitude and brains. Two are always needed to successfully complete the flight."
Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous.

The ram jets were a module upgrade in closed beta for the I-15. then they (WG) took it a way for some reason. I liked it and was decent with it. I am glad it's back. as the I-15.DM2.    :great:  :bajan:  :playing:

I noticed with the I-15 DM2, you really have to use those Ramjets to get anything going with this plane.  It's a looker, but a sub par performer unless you really work it hard.  No complaints with it so far though.
edit: 8-19  Just to add, I like the slick  WG 15th anniversary commemorative logo on the tail that came with today's update...great job and thanks...

4x ShKAS and excellent handling make a nice plane. The ramjet makes a 360 almost instantaneous, and the ShKAS tears stuff up faster than one think.

I find it better than most regular Tier 3 plane...that, or I am using a highly skilled pilot in mine.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

This is my signature aircraft at least until the official release becuase I'm not researching a huge tech tree and then having it wiped when its released.

These things don't worrry me at all.  Start a scissors move and its lazy roll rate can't keep it in the mix.

Keep out of the circle jerk and its toast.

It looks cool though.  I'll keep it for gits and shiggles.

Pretty much this.
The only reason anyone ever gets killed by this plane is because they don't take advantage of its inability to change directions on the fly.

But I love it.  It was my favorite I-15 module setup and it's still so much fun to jet up to an unsuspecting tier V and pepper them down.  I was even able to get Golubev in this plane.

I like mine.  It's a quirky little plane, that takes a little getting used to, to fly properly.  The guns can tear enemies up, but it's low HP make it pretty fragile outside of it's own tier.  I always seem to find myself in tier V battles when I fly mine.  One 1/4 second burst from a tier V plane, and you're going down in flames.

This plane is a VERY frail craft. If played correctly, it can easily destroy anything up to tier 5. Basically you have to stay on the outskirts of a fight and pick of the guys that aren't paying attention.

One thing I absolutely LOVE to do in mine... head to head with a tier 5 heavy or ground attacker. The Il-2 is absolutely hilarious for this... Basically, I just run straight at 'em until I'm about 800m away. At this point, I initiate a full-boost barrel roll AROUND my opponent's cone of fire, then boost around behind him for the kill.

Cheers!
Glenn

I do that too.
And then the fighters turn around thinking they can get the jump on you with their guns and you're already turning into position for a firing angle.
