What does Enable Sideslip Compensation do and what is the best setting to put it on?

Sideslip sets it so that the plane doesn't auto recenter due to letting up on joystick/gamepad surfaces.

IMO you're hamstrung by WG's deep-rooted "I've got a secret" complex.

So, for joystick control, its best to push the slider all the way to the right?

Think about it this way. If your plane is on a 45deg angle it will start to slide down and turn.
With side slip on it auto rudders so you still fly straight no turn no altitude loss.
Mine is 80% on.
Play with it totally off and you'll know what it does real fast.
