1. The throttle options for the x52pro (not a rare joystick) are set to the itty bitty slider instead of the actual throttle. I tried the axis assign to no avail, it will not recognize the throttle.
2. The joystick stopped working altogether in the training mission. It was showing that it saw the movements I was making in the settings menu, but the plane ignored all input.
3. There should be, when you first load a mission, a box asking what controller you want to use so you don't have to fuss around right off the bat.

Ok.. so the throttle works, but it does not affect the sliders in settings.

To be honest I couldn't get my Attk 3 logitech joystick to work worth a damn either so I'd be interested in some knowledgeable feedback here too.

My Saitek X-52 and Pro Pedals are not recognized by the game after the latest patch.  it was working throughout Alpha and CBT (closed beta). Impossible for me to use a mouse to fly LOL

Did you assign the devices individually?

When I used a stick, peddles and throttle I had to plug in one device at a time, assign that one device, unplug it and do the next.  Once they were all assigned, plug them all in.  Only after assigning each device individually did the game recognize them correctly.

Prior to this the game would confuse the axis input from the different controller.  The Z axis (toe brakes) on the peddles would be confused as throttle input and override my throttle control.  The X axis on the peddles would override the X axis on the joystick and cause the plane to roll every time I applied rudder.  It made it a challenge to fly for sure.

Try assigning each axis individually and see if this works out for you.

This might be a stupid question, but did the people having problems with the game not recognizing their joystick movements opened the settings options and selected Joystick from the choices for mouse, keyboard and joystick?

I solved my problem be re-installing the Saitek Driver and Profile Software.  You might want to do the same.

Hi all,

I too am having joystick issues (Saitek Cyborg X)..  I can get the macro buttons recognized in the flight settings but the actual joystick (pitch, roll, yaw) function is not being recognized.  Also, when I try to map the joystick the screen starts to flicker and will eventually crash.

Just a heads up to the developers.

Game looks amazing though...  Hope to be able to participate more in the near future.

X32Wright,

I did update the drivers and the profiler with the latest...  Still have issues.

I might try a clean install... Uninstall driver and profiler and then install again...  I'll let you know if this works.

My Saitek ST290 works fine except the throttle. I've tried the calibration and everything moves with the stick, just not with the throttle.

My old MS Sidewinder Pro II works like a charm, as well as the Logitech 3D Pro and my Thrustmaster HOTAS X setup.

I only say this as a comparison....because it seems the "low tech" devices work fine, but the higher tech/higher priced models dont?

My most expensive JS was $60 (the HOTAS)

my Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers, or a microsoft joystick fail to work, when plugged in they also stop my mouse buttons from working ingame. Tab'd out my mouse works fine, but ingame it moves cursor but will not work any buttons.
