Hey all, I'm in the process of building a website called The WAR MACHINE.  Its a collection of Military vehicles from museums and other attractions from around the world.  This is the first set I published from the RAF Museum near London England.  All the planes below are WWII era, but be sure to look around the website to see lots of Cold War and Modern Aircraft too!

Damn I missed visting this last time I was in London but, I did see the Imperial War Museum Duxford which has quite a few planes as well.

Some very nice shoots.

Also on your website you asked how many nations flew the F-4 well 12 did.

Australia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Iran, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, UK, USA.

Thanks for the clarification, I enjoyed the write up as well, learned alot of new stuff.  What year were F-4's retrofitted/redesigned to have guns? and didn't the F-4's experience in the early stages of the Vietnam War lead to the creation of the TOPGUN fighter school?

Sorry I have not replied earler SHARKBITEATTACK as I have not been on the forums that much of late.

The F-4E was the first Phantom to have an internal gun. It was first flown on the 1st of August 1965 with the first production models delivered to the USAF in October 1967.

As to your second question it had more do to with a lack of performance of air-to-air missiles when engaging enemy aircraft.

I direct you to an outline of the Ault Report  as this will give you a good brief overview and can help you go into more detail if you want to research the subject.

I am from England and I seen the Imperial War Museum Duxford and I've went to the tank museum in Dorset it is very big
