Try to change the numbers in the curve so that input will become linear. (eg. 0.1  0.1; 0.2  0.2 and so on)

Any ideas on why setting the auto flaps to false seems to work for everything but the IL series..

I get like a revers gravity effect : The plane literally resists pitching down while right side up..BUT it doesn't try to go full vertical climb if I let go of the stick..

Nobody else has this issue, except me..

Thanks Haswell.  I changed the xml file for the joystick and now I have better control my plane.  I am still having an issue of the plane pitching up when I let go of the stick.  I have to hold it slightly forward for level flight.  Is there anything in the xml file to correct that?

Haswell have you figured out what this section does now in the xmls:

Spoiler

I have gone from very low numbers to very high numbers out and have not noticed a change.

I'm also having a sensitivity problem when I pull rapidly in a turn, out turning my opponent , and need to slow my aircraft to stay on target....as soon as I let up on the stick  the turn STOPS.....and the opponent out turns me.

Any ideas?

Haswell the Fire Groups do not work for me.

When I put that section back into the xml, Group 1 shoots Group 2 and Group 2 does nothing and Group 3 does nothing.

I have edited this for both Keyboard and Joystick and they both do the same thing.

Bolded section are mouse controls; underlined section are joystick controls.

That is due to how the new flight model works. In a nutshell, the geometry of your airframe affects your flight characteristics, so certain planes will be more prone to pitching upwards or downwards in level flight. As far as I know, no XML edits will allow for completely level flight with static altitudes.

I'm experiencing this effect as well, feels like a cushion of air underneath your wings keeping you afloat. Again, it might have to do with the FM changes and airframe characteristics. Might be the amount of lift from your airframe being too high, since for sure the devs worked on tweaking GA planes (all GA plane configurations were reset after the patch). Maybe your GA planes have egos too big to allow them to fly downwards, hint hint...

Are you allowing your stick to return to the zero positions completely? I think due to how the new control interpretations are setup, the magnitude of your stick movement directly corresponds with the plane's movement in-game (which is nice, in some respect). It means you have to perform minute-adjustments to your controls now I guess... you have to follow your target slowly with your stick. Try decreasing your deadzone for your stick and see if it helps, since the deadzone assumes your stick to be completely centered.

Strange, so KEY_1 works for Group 2 and no other groups would fire regardless of the keys binded? Try binding keys other than number keys and see if it works. If not, please post the excerpt from your XML file.

Haswell, no matter what I rebind the key to only works like I stated.

Now this part is where I have Joy Trigger (Key_Joyy) and Joy 2 (Key_Joy9) on group 2 and 3 like you stated would do 1 and 2 but like I said above Group 2 and 3 does nothing.   Also I have nothing bound to Main Fire.

Spoiler

What about binding only one key to each fire group? I can't test the configs on the client until tomorrow, and I don't have a joystick around to mess with, sorry about my seemingly lack of knowledge on this.

Maybe, another joystick user can help us out here?

Talked to Kird and he said even the RU players are having issues bringing back Fire Groups.  They have even tired cmd_alternate_fire and cmd_fire_group0 with no luck with either.

Haswell, I forgot that I did not use a plane with more then 2 Groups, I went with the 109G that has 3 Groups, and yes Fire Group 1 will shoot Group 2, Fire Group 2 will shoot Group 3.  So now to figure out what will let you shoot Group 1 (which the MGs on MG+Cannon Planes).

Quite honestly, why aren't virtually all the things you can edit in xml files available to edit in the game settings...that just seems silly...

Added, fire control groups and throttle control.

Anyone getting throttle control mapped to gamepad buttons to work like before 0.4.0?

Added throttle control keybinds to the boost/cut engine snippet of the code.

FYI: They have nerfed XML editing. Apparently they are afraid of competing with us on programming our controls.

Make sure you delete default.xml and then throw your editec ~~.xml file and make sure you change <FILE_VERSION> 17 to FILE_VERSION 20
