Overall I will give this a 7.5/10. Before once someone got on your tail you were dead in seconds while now you have to opportunity to try and shake the aggressor - better. Speed differences are more pronounced making overshoot/undershoot a real problem - better though irritating. The smaller hit boxes have made long range sniping which was common before much less effective - better, combat ranges are more realistic even though this is not a sim. The reduction in effectiveness of MGs is good overall but groups of 4 or more heavy MGs need to be buffed back up - better/worse.  Aiming with a joystick needs work.

SO remember that thing about PIO i talked about....

flight model is fine
MGs still suck
cannons are still OP
camara and controls are AWFUL

i think most of the issue people have with the flight model are control and balance issues

Graphic is good, but control is horrible. I was really trying, thinking its new, I will get used to it. I gave up finally. Can't force myself to take off any more :(

What have you done?!!! You people have totally ruined this game..before this patch it was one of the best, if not the best game i ever played now you have turned it into a pile of stinky crap.
Why would you want to lose all of your active beta testers this is beyond comprehension.
I never seen anything like this to make so many changes at the same time and destroy your game and your fanbase.
You need to REVERT back to the old format or you wont be seeing me playing any WG games again.

EPIC FAIL DEVS SOMEONE SHOULD BE FIRED!

I have to agree with the masses. Who was complaining that the controls were bad? I never heard anybody piss and moan about controls. So why did you have to go and screw with the controls? I dont know about the mouse people, but as far as the joystick goes, even with the fix after 4.0, it still does not come close to what it was. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the controls were messed with. All the other updates are fine and we can get used to them, but leave the controls alone people. Did you put up a notice asking for opinions about things? or did you just figure that things need fixing? If you just go and put the controls back to prior 4.0, I'm sure that the bitching would stop. You would think that being testers, that you would value our opinions.

Most of the joystick problems are more flight model changes.   The only control problem with joystick came from the lack of being able to pair it with other control devices.   The over sensitivity came from the new flight model.   I had no problem with the new mouse controls being added to the game.  That was cool.   More options for control is always a good thing.  The problem was destroying the old 3.5 setup.   Very sloppy.

Just like LordAlexander said, the Joystick controls are because of the flight model.

If you compared the 0.3.5 JS XML vs the 0.4.0 JS XML all they did was change the order of the XML coding in the file and added in Strafe mode keybinds and took away some keybinds that we were able to mod back in, but after 0.4.0.1 a lot of those missing codes came back, also there was one coding that did get added but it is for Mouse and all the XMLs have it.

I have been screwing around my curves to see if I can calm down some of the over twitchyness and I think I am getting closer to it.  I actually have 1 more I want to test out tonight, but I have to wait to get home to make the curve and then apply to my xml and test it out in game.

What we got was that little white spec on top of chicken poo making more poo .. add that up and we now have poo poo.

OK - with recent changes, the game has become a little more playable.

Still no bombsite mode, but we can free look with the mouse again, so high-level bombing is possible once more.

Except I often can't see the target or the bombsite above 8,000 feet.

Am starting to enjoy the great graphics now.

If I can only get my joystick sensitivity back on par would be awesome.

Tried playing again tonight, and it's still a horrible flight model. I still get around 10 fps (compared to 30fps+ before patch) and my planes are stupid jerky.
I fly F4F because I can't have an F6F.

As for joystick sensitivity I think a couple sensitivity sliders would do wonders. Not just for joystick but also for game pads. Every plane has its own characteristics so the sliders may have to be certain to a extent. The sliders would have to be for horizontal, vertical, pitch, yaw and so forth.

I personally think that you screwed the pooch on this one.
The flight model sucks, I boost and climb right at start and my speed drops like a rock. The old version before it got FUBAR'ed was alot more realistic, boost and climb and at least your speed stayed same until the boost maxed out then it dropped.
Plus the graphics got better but the sighting and target acquisition went into the toilet.I can barely see a dot until it is flying by me and judging direction and turns are almost impossible unless they are flying directly across your path in a straight line or are within 300 meters of you.
The previous version was much better for viewing planes at a distance and you should go back to what drew me to this game in the first place--it was very realistic!!!  if I wanted to play War Blunder I would have , but they have the same type graphics for distance and target acquisition that you changed it to ...AND IT SUCKS!
So please revert this War Blunder copycat to the great game it was or I believe it will go the way of the dinosaur...extinct !

next patch nerf the japanese planes armor nothing else just armor, they fell apart real quick in real life, at least make them a little eaiser to kill please.   :playing:
