All Japanese planes have poor roll rate. However, they kinda inverted the role of the J7W, since it wasn't that mobile and had good zoom along with better roll rate. But following the stereotype, it's normal to roll that badly in a J7W.
However, you have an energy advantage over a Yak-1M. Why aren't you using it boi?

Yeah it's a spray and pray with 0.5 seconds of spray lol when you get the 30mm's that will kill things no problem but with the 0.5 second or so over heat and randomness is really really noticeably.
The 30mm before the tier 10 model fires literally in bursts due to low RoF.
Despite that, the 700m/s velocity sets it apart from the MK 108 and is actually a good weapon for the caliber.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

is energy advantage just referring to climbing and speed? can you explain how to use it? thanks

Basically, you use your speed and climb rate to get away from the enemy plane, and dive attack said enemy exclusively. Some of the most powerful planes like the HG II, Me 262 and P-51 series pride themselves on that method, and usually succeed. Yaks have really pathetic energy retention, while yours is actually ok.
