Hello Pilots!
We want to hear your feedback! In addition to answering the poll above, we would like your feedback on the categories below:
Battles played - How many games have you flown in this plane?
Plane balance - please explain why you think this plane is overpowered, underpowered, or balanced. Give specific reasoning like firepower, turn rates, climb speed, etc., that contribute to the planes balance.
Historical accuracy - please note any specific characteristics that make this plane unique historically and what things may be missing from that would better reflect the capabilities of the plane.
Power curve - How does the plane feel stock vs. fully upgraded?
Adjustment recommendations - Explain any recommendations you have to balance this plane and why.
Additional notes - Anything else you have to say about this plane that doesn’t fit in another section above. Include any tactics or uses that may have been overlooked by other players.
Cheers!
~Raizei

battles played:
200++ if i remember..

plane balance:
somewhat balanced, but sometimes UP because of its low engine power

historical accuracy:
i think its nearly correct, weapons overheat, manueverability, HP.. but i remember someone said the max speed is around 520kmh, not 470 like ingame now.

power curve:
stock: kinda UP, feels like the A6M1
maxxed: balanced, love those type 99-2 cannons :3

tactics:
turn and burn all day long, avoid high alt and head on battles. oh and also dont forget, tailgunners will ruin your day.

Just bought it during the recent sale. Waited until I got my tokens last night so I could train the pilot to 100%. Added a sight. Flew it 3 times. I flew this a lot in Open Beta and liked it. Not yet fully equipped in OB, but I'll probably finish it during the 3x weekend. Wulf

Right now, the A6M5 is one of the best balanced planes in the game. It does one thing really well (turnfighting, duh) and it's mediocre to crappy at everything else. I would advise against buffing it, even if people complain. It's a very capable fighter if you play it correctly and it punishes you if you don't.

only had the chance to do 8 battles with a 4-4 ratio. Like most things a person needs to learn different tactics wit hdifferent vehicles.

Battles played - around 80+
Plane balance - Slightly slower then it should be. Stated top speed was to be around 557km/h. Other than that its a amazing plane.
Historical accuracy - Pretty spot on other then the speed. Although this model of the zero was built to battle the hellcats and corsairs.
Power curve - It's the A6M1 when its stock.. I think when your getting into a new tier it should be a bit better then the previous..
Adjustment recommendations - I would like to see it's top speed adjusted to be more accurate.
Additional notes -
Really a neg rep. lol

.
Battles played -100+
Plane balance - I think top speed is a bit low.  Maneuverability is great.   Weapons seem to lack some punch.  It
Historical accuracy - The A6M5, while not as survivable as Allied fighters, might have rated slightly sturdier than the game model due to the addition of self-sealing fuel tanks and some protection for the pilot.
Power curve - I upgraded immediately.
Adjustment recommendations - Slightly more armor value (very little), faster speed, slightly greater damage value for the weapons
Additional notes- Really like the A6M5

Plane balance - Nicely balanced, or a bit under-powered. This plane is so slow and has poor climb rate (with the weak engine) and inaccurate gun  - But the maneuverability compensates everything.
Historical accuracy - So accurate, except for the engine type(it's air-cooled, not water-cooled...)
Power curve - Upgraded one wins. 7.7mm guns are too poor for its tier.

Battles played - 50  winrate 58%.
Plane balance - Good. Realistic to what I have read. This plane is fragile as glass. Undergunned. Guns overheat too  fast. This plane is not for the faint of heart. Will be frustrating to new players. I learned to be a better flier because of the Japanese tree, especially this plane
Power curve - appropriate.
Adjustment recommendations - I believe it should be more maneuverable. I was constantly out maneuvered by F4F's that was not reality. Japanese doctrine put all their emphasis on training to dogfight and at the beginning of the war Japanese pilots are elite with many skills.. Early in the war US doctrine became stay in groups , do not dogfight, use running attacks and fly away since US pilots were not as experienced and US planes generally  not as maneuverable, so they utilized thier better firepower, speed, and ability to dive faster then this plane.

Adding the Bomb to the zero - very cool. strafing ground targets is not really an option for the anemic MG's.

Note: any time a Japanese plane with a bomb rams anything the onboard bomb should detonate. Kamakazi style.

General notes:

1.Guns overheating. Completely Bogus. Most of the planes in this game do not carry enough ammo to overheat their guns in a way that would impact these short battles. Forced air cooling with colder air at higher altitudes... please.  Running out of ammo is the real issue. Pilots pulled the trigger until the enemy in their sights was destroyed. Also MG's that do not slow the firing rate it is the completely opposite - the overheated mg runs away(till no more ammo) and you cannot stop it as the shells cook off do to excessive heat.

2. Anytime a plane is destroyed with bombs onboard there should be an chance of detonation.

I am a US army tanker with many years exp, I have done extensive reading on WWII campaigns Sea Land and Air. I am a WoT player and that game is awesome yet...I have been enjoying this game,  keep up the good work, this game is a keeper.

I think it should have a higher turn ratio, it turns like a darn bomber. The best tactic I can come up with is fly by punches. I fly through the mass of enemy hitting what I can then turn and hit agian. When it gets down to a few planes wit ha high assist ration...for god sake do not let any get behind you or out turn you, with out creative manuevering your dead meat.

Plane balance - Balanced, does super well in its niche. Very min / maxed hp and maneuverability but I like it.

Historical accuracy - AFAIK accurate enough.

Power curve - Feels weak stock, but is a beast upgraded.

Adjustment recommendations - As mentioned before, could use a speed buff. Please don't overbuff though, I like owning in a plane that most people see as weak.

I agree, would definitely prefer to have some ammo limit/reload feature instead of the current overheat system. The cooking off comment is spot on, I have a semiauto rifle that I can cookoff by firing too quickly; this would be even more of an issue for 20mm autocannons.

Would also be glad if ramming ground targets in any plane did damage to the target based off of the speed, weight, and ordinance carried including bombs/rockets/leftover ammo supplies.

Save the Skywhales (that includes the Skorcas)!!!

Less RNG, More skill: Revert to 4.1 TODAY!!!

Ammo limits would result in the following match style. 1. Shoot 2. Run Out 3. Ram 4. Click "Hanger" to get a new plane with ammo. How exciting. Wulf

We actually had ammo limits in alpha, it was very rare that such a situation occurred. They had ammo limits, but far higher than the realistic ammo loads.
Not a poser P51A troll but around 145+ games, 90% win rate, too many to count kills.
Overall: 2300+ games, 85% win rate, 5.3k+ air kills

And, you had Alpha participants. Why not also place limits on fuel? Hopefully, the ammo limits era is over. Wulf

I was in spectator mode today and noticed an in flight modeling error on the A6M5: the A/C looked like the BF109.  The giveaway was the end of the wings were squared off and not rounded like in the hanger.
Anyone else see this?

He was probably using the stock airframe, A6M3 variant which in fact DID have squared wing tips. A6M3

Great catch, well that is another example of the games excellent historical accuracy.  Maybe the plane would be labeled as the A6M3 when in stock frame?
