Hello Pilots!
We want to hear your feedback! In addition to answering the poll above, we would like your feedback on the categories below:
Battles played - How many games have you flown in this plane?
Plane balance - please explain why you think this plane is overpowered, underpowered, or balanced. Give specific reasoning like firepower, turn rates, climb speed, etc., that contribute to the planes balance.
Historical accuracy - please note any specific characteristics that make this plane unique historically and what things may be missing from that would better reflect the capabilities of the plane.
Power curve - How does the plane feel stock vs. fully upgraded?
Adjustment recommendations - Explain any recommendations you have to balance this plane and why.
Additional notes - Anything else you have to say about this plane that doesn’t fit in another section above. Include any tactics or uses that may have been overlooked by other players.

Please read the WOWP Game and Forum rules.

Battles played - over a thousand across closed and open beta

Plane balance - overall balance is fine, especially since it was one of the planes that saw flight characteristics changes just before OBT started.  The guns, though individually weak, are numerous enough to be more potent than all module options on the next tier up in the line.  Speed is the only issue with. he plane, and it's only that when it's at the bottom of the bracket.  Even then the speed, or lack of, gives the plane character and ease with 1 pass GT kills.

Historical accuracy - All I know is that it never saw combat and was underpowered as a prototype.  So far it seems to fit.

Power curve - Stock and upgraded only feel different with regards to firepower.  Everything else doesn't seem to noticeably change from a battle perspective.

Adjustment recommendations - more paint schemes?  I can't really think of anything.

Additional notes - really just some thoughts and questions:

The tail gunner is physically more exposed on this plane than most others.  Is that eventually going to pan out where he's more easily injured from gunfire?

Since I have the BSh-1 which is, like the TSh-3, Tier III, I can make a direct comparison. So far in Open Beta I have flown the TSh-3 31 times with a "win" of 58% and the BSh-1 64 times with a "win" of 63%. Reasonably sized samples, and some evidence that the BSh-1 outperforms the TSh-3. Of course, the BSh-1 has 8 bombs, and makes its contribution via bombing, while the TSh-3 still has the MG's of the TSh-1, and can take on direct attacks. At lower tiers, head-on attacks are very common, so the TSH-3 with 10 MG's can reap more air kills than the BSh-1 with its 4 MG's. Neither plane is fast enough to get out of its own way, so while they can be accused of ramming, more agile planes should simply duck. Best strategy for either plane in head-to-head is to just keep firing and hope the attacker is blown to shreds. Even if not, these planes can survive many crashes. I like them both, and bought the Light package for Go Live just to get the BSh-1. I read the Wiki on the TSH's, but assume WG is way ahead of me on realism. You have to conserve speed, but some maneuvers are possible. Slowing / braking either plane will at times present you with a surprised fighter as a target, and with the TSh-3 in particular the close-range shot is deadly. These two planes are for enthusiasts. Otherwise, the TSh-3 is just a step to the doldrums of the LBSh, in turn final stepping stone to the beloved IL-2, now somewhat nerfed IL-2. Wulf

Now, the LBSh is a gold plane, of course. Still worth grinding to the Sturmovik. W

Tsh-3 is great for combating other planes, although it may not be obvious at first. It's a unique challenge, but with some skill, you can take out two or three planes in a game, as long as they are tier III or lower. In higher tier games, this plane gets eaten up. I like it though and wouldn't change it.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm whining in my posts

And why do we balance???

Ah, 'The Old Barn Door'.   Great at chewing anything in front of it up into little pieces; the challenge is getting something in front of the plane first.   Great firepower forward, needs an extra MG aft.   Horribly underpowered and slow, and somewhat sluggish at the controls.   The best advice I can give is what has already been told in another post: get low, do not get sucked into a furball, and try to keep away from enemy fighters as you make your way to the enemy HQ.   As a GA, take out the enemy installations and don't hesitate to ask for help if you get bounced.

This doesn't compare to the BSH-1 at all, but it makes reasonable contributions, and can rarely score fighter kills.  Mostly useful for strafing AA with machineguns, and helping wreck enemy base. It's a reasonable reward for the TSh series.
Does best with incendiary ammunition.

I enjoy it iv got a few frags  when a plane over flew me and kept in my sites. Iv clipped a few enemy planes with my wing in a head on pass and lived though the  this was pure luck as I tried to turn away. But its a tough plane. Its a fun plane and change of pace specialy when you can get a good run and destroy several ground targets before being jumped and knocked out, the cammo phases seem to work as far as flying tree top level trough the enemy planes above. I dont think Id change anything other than givieng the rear gunner a little more Dps as everyone who flies the GA planes you hardly ever get any cover or help in pub matches and once you are seen its usealy over for you pretty fast

I call this plane the shredder for obvious reasons,I also use it as a heavy fighter when needed.Yesterday I was chastised on the ingame chat for not hitting GT's yet I was last man standing, took 3 kills and won the match. it only takes a couple bursts to either take out anyone close or do major damage.
