OP: "Experience five future combat scenarios featuring modern 4.5 and 5th generation designs. First 4 F-22 Raptors engage Mikoyan MiG-29s, Sukhoi Su-30s and Dassault Rafales with the B-1R missile truck. The next scenario involves a group of F-35 Lightning IIs led by Raptors facing SA-23 surface to air missiles and MiG-35s. Next, Dassault Rafales and F-22s engage Su-30s with a Boeing 767 modified to carry a laser. Then the F-22 fights with the Russian fifth generation Su-47 Berkut. The show ends with a "dogfight" in low Earth orbit between two scramjets."

I have watched the episode on T.V. and have always wondered why they used the Su-47 when it clearly was just a technology demonstrator like the MiG 1.44.

Well you have to realise it's the History Channel, their newer material isn't all that good, and much of it doesn't even center around history anymore. Also this episode was produced in 2008, the Su-50 didn't make it's first flight until 2010.

Yeah that is true. Wasn't the PaK-50 talked about before that then?

There's a funny thing about those missile trucks, you know?
After watching that episode, I Googled "B-1R" and just found a forum argument on whether or not the B-1R was even nescessary.
One guy claimed that no nation other than the US can conjuer up enough masses of planes for the use of the B-1R.
That agrument escalated into something like "we can agree that it's useless, but we can't agree on WHY it's useless."
Took them, like, 50 post to notice that.
