I just got my rockets for my P-40. I know how to shoot them but i don't know how to lock on. No one in game will answer me, how do i do this?

They are Unguided Rockets, just Aim and Shoot.  Also, like mentioned above, they have limited range, so watch how close you are.  When your Targeting Que Enlarges, you know your in range.

they are pretty hard to use well, much harder than cannons...  but soooo satisfying when they connect

there's no 'lock' at all, so apply liberally...

they travel slowly, in an shallow arc, so aim high and far ahead... practice in a 'single battle'

@Crag yeah, i know that. but the fact that it said 'target not locked' down in the bottom left made it seem that they could lock on.

The bottem-left window shows which target you are currently targeting. You have to work to get the plane within your sights though.

Now all you have to do is learn how to launch them at other fighters  :Smile_trollface:

Fire a burst 1st, if you hit strafing, fire a rocket and it should be on target.

Max range for P-40 rockets is about 3000 ft, if you're within that, fire away.

I have shot down so many 410s with rockets in head on passes. Only 410s though oddly enough.

So those same 410s can't use their 210mm flying bombs to do the same to you? D:

It worked the first few times but I'm onto that stuff now :). Whenever I'm tailing a GA and it goes low and slow I'm like, "NOPENOPENOPENOPE" and pull out to re-engage from a better angle.

He is talking about the WGr-210 rockets.  The ones that can be fired as individuals and get kills because they have a blast radius large enough that general vicinity is close enough.

They come in 2s tho, except on the 410 that has 4. They do weigh you down significantly, but the explosion radius is huge. And to think the Fw 190 had a 280mm rocket...

Well some noob in an IL-8 tired to fly under that little rock formation on one of the Sea maps(Forget which one) next to the carrier. So a burst of 8 HAVAR's later from my P-51 (late mod) against those rocks just as he was under them and he was VERY mad.  :Smile_trollface:
